A very special thank you to all who made LOAJ possible and contributed to its success over the past seven years!
A journal needs considerable support to create and to maintain it. Of course, of paramount importance is our authors. Our authors and their articles are listed on this site according to the issue in which their articles appear. Our advertisers have provided us with their faithful support, some have been with us since our inception in 2002. See our special thank you page for advertisers
Since this is a professional clinical journal, both an advisory board and an editorial review board were formed with the guidance of Kj. Murari Chaitanya-dasa. Those who have participated in these boards are listed below with their terms of service. The review board consists of those who are teaching authorities, clinicians, herbologists, jyotishas, and yoga experts. Additional reviewers may be invited for special topics, such as the jyotish issue we presented in Fall, 2008. We are most grateful for the work done over the years by these boards and by the board of directors of LOAEF.
In Spring of 2004, Dr. Martina Ziska volunteered to become the Managing Editor, considerably adding to the stature of the journal with her medical background and her experience in editing and publishing a journal for the Lyme Disease Foundation. It was her suggestion to focus each issue on a specific topic and to include articles on herbology and a case study in each issue as feasible.
In a meeting of board members in 2004, the idea to establish a non-profit, 501 (c)(3) organization was suggested. Over the next several months, the necessary documents were prepared and submitted to the U.S. Department of Revenue. In May, 2005, we received our letter of recognition! The new organization was called Light on Ayurveda Educational Foundation which now took responsibility to raise the necessary funds to publish LOAJ. Our mission went further, however. It included the support of Ayurvedic education as well as the goal to bring Ayurveda to every household. In Spring, 2008, the LOAEF Board of Directors elected to found a scholarship in Betheyla Anuradha's memory. (click here for details)
