About Betheyla:
Betheyla Anuradha (1948 – 2007) selflessly offered her services to Light on Ayurveda Journal and to Light on Ayurveda Educational Foundation, giving us the necessary guidance and encouragement to continue our services to the Ayurvedic community. She graduated from the Ayurvedic Institute where she worked tirelessly to combine the knowledge of Ayurveda with Yoga, co-creating with Dr. Vasant Lad, a course in Ayurvedic Yoga for The Ayurvedic Institute. Betheyla held a Bachelor’s Degree in Vedic Astrology through the American Council of Vedic Astrology, where she studied under the tutelage of Vamadeva Shastri (Dr. David Frawley). She taught Jyotish at the Ayurvedic Institute; was the first Vedic Astrology columnist for LA Yoga Ayurveda and Health magazine (2002 – 2007), and maintained a successful Vedic Astrology consulting practice. In 2002, as one of her many seva projects, she organized the first silent auction for the National Ayurvedic Medical Association, raising over $10,000.00 in non-committed funds that year. No matter what discipline she was studying or practicing, she did so with singular intensity.
